Shield emitters are a hard repulsor/deflector shield system. In contrast to the much more commonly used shield array, this does not absorb impacts, but bounce the impacting weapons as though it were a second layer of armor, merely made of energy. They are incapable of recharge while active, but their integrity is far greater as they do not absorb all of the energy of an impacting object, along with being somewhat more efficient on a power grid to generate. They have little to no mitigation from their lack of an absorption trait, but it proves unnecessary to have it for the shield type due to most kinetic energy simply being redirected to another direction. In the case of other forms of energy, they spread out as though they've struck a brick wall so to speak.
