Fighters serve as a general purpose strike craft, they aren't as good as a dedicated bomber or dedicated interceptor. But they can do the job left or right. being all-rounders they can't carry as heavy ordinance as a bomber nor are they as fast as an interceptor. In general they are the "Stock" craft for any situation.
